Lloyd Ray Sharp

SHARP, Lloyd Ray, Oct 6, 1924 – Sep 6, 2012.
The son of Oren and Ethel Sharp, Lloyd was born in a farm home near Webb, Iowa. He grew up and graduated from the Webb School in 1942. He then attended Business School in Omaha for one year and served in the U.S. Army for 3 years, spending one year in India.

Lloyd married Betty Nelson on July 19, 1946 at Ames, Iowa. In 1948 he graduated from Iowa State College in Ames with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Lloyd was employed for 36 years in the natural gas industry, retiring from Enron in 1984. He and Betty had been members of the Lutheran Church of the Master since 1965.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; parents; 2 brothers, Elmer and Donald; grandson, Erik Lloyd Martin. He is survived by daughters, Nancy Tietsort (Harold) of Omaha and Annette Bloomquist of Madison, WI; sons, Norman Sharp (Linda) of Easley, SC and David Sharp (Rebecca) of Orlando, FL; 5 grandchildren: Brian, Shannon, Jessica, Erin and Jacob; 6 great-grandchildren: Ella, Murphy, Maci, Alaina, Gavin and Mia.

The family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Pointe and Lakeside Hospital Comfort Care, as well as Dr. Reilly and Dr. Domalakes for all their kind care.

The family will receive friends Monday, 6pm to 8pm at the West Center Chapel. SERVICES Tuesday, 11am, Lutheran Church of the Master, 2617 S. 114 St. Interment, Hillcrest Memorial Park with military rites by Benson VFW Post 2503.

Memorials are suggested to Lutheran Church of the Master or Alzheimer’s Association.

Sorry, to hear about your Loss. Your Father will be Trully Missed and Loved by All who knew him. For, he was like to us, here in Colorado, a Grandfather we never had. But, I wish I would have known sooner, I would have come to the services. I did not find out until today at 5:30pm. My God Bless you and watch over all of you during this time, and know that he is at home now in God's Hands. He is with his Wife, your Mom, and has earned his Wings!
